From April to mid-November this year, Myanmar earned US$ 457.361 million from exports of over 1.3 million tons of rice and broken rice, according to the Myanmar Rice Federation.

Export earnings from over 712,831.150 tons of rice and broken rice via border trade camps hit over US$ 250 million while export earnings from exports of over 614,798 million tons of rice and broken rice via reached over US$ 200 million.

Thanks to the market expansion during 2017-2018 fiscal year, Myanmar exported nearly 3.6 million tons of rice, the highest during over 50 years.

Rice exports via the border trade account for more than 70 per cent of the total rice exports and the sea trade, for about 30 per cent. In 2017-2018 FY, rice exports via the marine trade route represent up to 48 per cent of the total rice exports.

Myanmar exports rice to the EU countries and African countries by ship and to China via the border trade camp.
