Those coming from the stay-at-home townships to Nay Pyi Taw will be put in quarantine for 14 days and have their swabs tested twice for Covid-19

Those coming from the stay-at-home townships to Nay Pyi Taw will be put in quarantine for 14 days and have their swabs tested twice for Covid-19, said professor Dr Myat Wunna Soe, head and deputy director general of Nay Pyi Taw Public Health and Medical Services.  

Nay Pyi Taw Council has issued such an order since September 1 carrying the rules and disciplines that people coming to Union Territory Nay Pyi Taw and those returning from other regions and states need to follow.    

“Anyone who returns to Nay Pyi Taw must be in facility quarantine for a certain period. They must have tests. If they test negative for Covid-19, they will be allowed to enter. In this context, we have different procedures depending on where they come from. If they come from the non-affected townships, they are put in facility quarantine. One day later, their swabs will be tested. Three days after testing, they will be allowed to enter Nay Pyi Taw if they are not infected with the virus. But, those coming from the stay-at-home townships to Nay Pyi Taw will be put in quarantine for 14 days and have their swabs tested twice for Covid-19,” the professor said. 

The Ministry of Health and Sports has also issued the rules and disciplines on Covid-19 testing the townships not on the stay-home lists in the regions and states of the country to follow. 

In those townships, those in close contact with a Covid-19 patient have to undergo testing with a rapid test kit on the third day after their contact. If they test negative after their first testing, they will have to undergo second tests under RT-PCR technology on the 11th day. If they show some symptoms although they have tested negative twice, their quarantine period must be 14 days. 

Those rules and disciplines are also applicable to those coming from foreign countries and those coming from stay-home townships to non-stay-home townships.
