The Restoration Council of Shan State (RCSS) has once again urged relevant organizations to engage in face-to-face discussions to resolve issues for the long-term sustainability of peace and the establishment of a federal democratic union.

This call was included in a statement released by the RCSS following its annual meeting held on February 24 and 25, 2024, at its headquarters in Loi Tai Leng.

The RCSS statement noted that a total of 318 individuals attended the annual meeting, including advisors, members of the Central Executive Committee (CEC), Central Leading Committee (CLC), Central Committee (CC), regional administrative committee members, and other responsible personnel.

During the meeting, the strengths and weaknesses of the annual work reports submitted by various departments were reviewed. Discussions also broadly covered the current political, military, administrative, and economic situations, as well as other operational conditions, leading to the formulation of future work plans.

The RCSS stated that during the four years since the political changes, the organization has provided as much assistance as possible to the people who have suffered greatly due to ongoing conflicts and natural disasters.

The RCSS emphasized that it will continue to collaborate with local communities in rural areas and townships to carry out regional administrative tasks. It also reiterated its commitment to resolving Myanmar's political issues through dialogue and consultation.

The statement further highlighted the RCSS's earnest call for relevant organizations to engage in face-to-face discussions to achieve lasting peace and the establishment of a federal democratic union.
