Rakhine State imposes Stay-Home order in some townships

YANGON-The Ministry of Health and Sports released an announcement on August 25th saying that four townships as Kyaukphyu, Ann, Taunggup and Thandwe in Rakhine State are being extended in “Stay at Home order”.

The announcement starts this morning.

The Health and Sports Ministry is now carrying out preventive measures against COVID-19 with added momentum.

Aiming to control the spread of COVID-19, those people living in the coronavirus hotspot area must be needed to stay at home, according to the announcement.

Rakhine State firstly imposed its Stay at Home order in Sittwe Township. Later, some four townships are being extended in Stay at Home order.

The announcement also urged the locals to need to remain in their residences [excluding those working in government departments, organizations, companies, factories and workshops]. Other instructions include: only one person from a household allowed to shop for essentials if necessary: two persons from a household allowed to go to a clinic if necessary: wearing of facemask whenever going out: only permitted vehicles transporting those who are serving their duty or returning will be allowed: while in a vehicle there should be only one driver and one passenger when shopping and one driver and two passengers when visiting the clinic. Action will be taken under the law against those who fail to follow the instructions.
