The election observers from international and embassies have commented on the success of the current election in a complete and accountable manner, said the Prime Minister, U Nyo Saw at the Union Government Meeting (6/2025) held at the Union Government Office 18 in Nay Pyi Taw on the afternoon of December 31.

The meeting was attended by Union Ministers and officials, and the Chief Ministers of regions and states attended via video conference.

In his opening remarks at the meeting, the Prime Minister said that the state government had successfully held the phase 1 of the 2025 multiparty democratic general election on December 28 in 102 townships, and that the public had participated in the activities of the state.

In addition, political parties, media, election observers from international and embassies visited the relevant polling stations and observed the process and found that all processes were completed with complete accountability, the Prime Minister said.

Therefore, the Prime Minister urged government officials to work together and work from various sectors until the public's desire for a free and fair multiparty democratic general election, phase 2 and phase 3, is successfully concluded.

The Prime Minister said that the government has consistently taken measures to prevent and combat online gambling, illegal trade, and drug trafficking as a national responsibility. In order to boost the national economy, it is necessary to work to develop MSMEs that use local raw materials, including agriculture and livestock, and that only a strong economy can lead to national development.

The Prime Minister said that in line with the slogan “Let’s take care of the environment for a prosperous country,” various measures are being taken by the government, including establishing forest plantations, conserving natural forests, planting windbreaks, implementing sustainable farming methods, and systematically managing water resources.

In addition, since this is the dry season, it is necessary to be careful to prevent fire accidents. Since most fires are caused by negligence, it is necessary to use fire systematically. Since many fires are caused by negligence such as shock circuiting of wires in the use of electricity, it is necessary to prepare for awareness-raising activities.

The government is making arrangements to ensure that all young people in the country have access to education, and is also implementing a free education system. In February, the Primary Education Completion Test for Grade-5, the Secondary Education Completion Test for Grade-9 and the remaining basic education grades will have to take the school-based end-of-year examinations, the Prime Minister said.

Therefore, the Prime Minister said that it is necessary for the officials from the region and state governments and the Ministry of Education to work together to ensure that students pass the exams successfully.

Regarding health, the Prime Minister said that hospitals across the country are recruiting health workers every year, and preventive measures are being taken to prevent the spread of diseases and to provide quality medical treatment if the disease occurs.

Regarding finance, it is necessary to complete the budget allocated for each fiscal year and the projects to be implemented on time before the end of the specified fiscal year. The strengthening the national statistical system is especially necessary for the development of the country, the Prime Minister said.

In ensuring the accuracy of statistics, the statistics submitted by ministries, regions and states can only be analyzed and the situation of the country can be known. Only when the analysis is correct can make the correct decisions and policies be made and implemented, the Prime Minister said.

Then, the Union Ministers read out the orders clearly and discussed the ongoing activities and plans to be implemented in their respective sectors.
