In Myanmar, leadership issues are significantly dominant, and if leaders from various sides engage in discussions and negotiations with foresight, it is hoped that challenges and difficulties can be overcome, said U Ko Ko Gyi, Chairman of the People’s Party.
The seventh anniversary celebration of the People’s Party was held on the morning of August 23 at the Sky Star Hotel in Tamwe Township, Yangon. During his commemorative speech at the event, U Ko Ko Gyi made the above remarks.
“Let me say something I haven’t said before. The problems in our country are less about the people and more about leadership issues, which are quite dominant. If leaders from various sides can discuss and resolve issues with foresight, I hope we can overcome some of the adversities and difficulties,” said U Ko Ko Gyi.
He also noted that while preparations are underway for the upcoming election, it is not realistic to expect the best outcomes. Instead, efforts should be made to make the best choices based on the current situation.
“At this time, as we prepare for the election, we cannot expect the best outcomes. We must strive for the best choices based on the current reality. Therefore, as we approach the upcoming election, we need to compare and analyze our country’s situation, as well as the realities of neighbouring countries and the international community, to ensure the least harm and suffering for our people,” said U Ko Ko Gyi.
The People’s Party will continue to prioritize working toward a federal system based on equality and collaboration, as well as building a peaceful nation, U Ko Ko Gyi stated during the event.
He added, “Most importantly, amidst neighbouring countries with populations in the tens of millions, we must foster unity, cohesion, and equality in Myanmar to ensure the longevity of our nation, our people, and our citizens. On this seventh anniversary of the People’s Party, I urge us to continue moving forward together.”
The seventh anniversary celebration of the People’s Party was attended by party members, political colleagues from the political sphere, and invited guests.
