In Myingyan Township, Mandalay Region, a prison department officer’s wife, her three-year-old granddaughter, and a taxi driver were reportedly abducted by members of the People’s Defense Force (PDF).

According to reports, Daw Ni Ni Win, the wife of U Win Naing Soe, head officer of the Myingyan Township Prison Department, was traveling with her three-year-old granddaughter, Ma Roon Cherry Hein, in a hired car driven by U Min Khan from No. (13) Ward, Myingyan. They left Myingyan on the morning of October 5, heading to Belin Village in Sintgaing Township along the Myingyan–Myotha–Tada-U–Mandalay road to visit relatives. Around 9 a.m., near Nwar Kuu Ai Village, members of the PDF stopped their vehicle and took all three of them away along with the car.
