After the start of the Civil Disobedience Campaign by the medical workers from the 500 bedded Pathein Hospital since 5th  February, it announced that no new patients will be admitted, and that emergency treatment should be sought at the nearest military hospital.    

In their declaration of their wish it has been stated that after arresting the members of the democratically elected government, the State power has been seized illegally and forcefully and at gunpoint. In order for the dictatorship mechanism to function a government body had been set up against the will of the people. And so the medical workers from the 500 bedded Pathein Public Hospital do not wish to work under the military government any more and demonstrate our wishes and started the Civil Disobedience Campaign from 5th February. And so from 5th  Feb. no new patients would be given treatment. Those patients that are in the hospital will continue to be given treatment.  Those needing emergency treatment could take treatment at the nearest military hospital, as stated in their declaration.      

After a few minutes after the declaration of the 500 bedded Pathein Hospital, the chief medical officer of the hospital was taken by some responsible persons and discussions went on for a long time. As the medical officer was taken the general public gathered in support of the doctor,  and he was sent back to hospital.  The reason for him being called away was not known.
