The United Nation Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs (OCHA Myanmar) issued a statement on April 19th saying that over 300,000 peoples have been displaced in Chin State, Sagaing and Magway Regions.

The statement also said that there were 912,700 displaced peoples across the country as being of April 11th. Among them, 566,100 have been displaced after February 1st, 2021.

Humanitarian access to conflict areas remains limited due to insecurity and ongoing fighting. However, humanitarian partners, in collaboration with local responders and religious leaders, have managed to provide critical life-saving assistance and protection services to people in need, according to the statement.

A statement from OCHA Myanmar said that humanitarian workers needed immediate access to conflict-affected areas to provide emergency assistance.

Despite the restrictions on travel to humanitarian workers, emergency assistance was being provided wherever possible.

As there have been landmines and explosive devices in conflict areas, the OCHA Myanmar already agreed with its partners to boost educative talks on clearance landmines affairs.

Due to dry season, water are not available is some parts. In doing so, personal hygiene affairs are in need. Moreover, the IDPS camps in Rakhine State can face an infectious diarrhoea disease, according to OCHA Myanmar.

So, there have been requirements to build the buildings at the Rakhine’s IDPs before rainy season.

The OCHA Myanmar statement also said that the measures to effectively response the emergency situation are being prepared in the disaster-hit regions before rainy season.

According to the present Humanitarian Response Plan (HRP) in 2022, the fun USD 862 million are in need aiming to provide aids for 6.2 million of needy persons. Currently, USD 37.2 million have been accepted.
