A 60 year old daily wage worker from Department of Education in Nay Pyi Taw was found COVID-19 suspects. Therefore, it has been lock-down and only some of the officers are in attendance daily according to U Ko Lay Win, Director-General of Basic Education Department.
A man from office number-13 suffered coughing at his home on April 7. When undergoing medical treatment at 1000 Bed hospital, he was suspected of COVID-19 and being hospitalized.
“He is asthma patient and when hospitalized at the hospital, we are concerned of other people if he showed symptoms of COVID-19. That’s why we locked-down the no-13 office building and only the responsible officials have to attend office. The whole building is not lock-down,” said Director-General to U Ko Lay Win.
“We learnt that he suffered asthma previously and swab test has been sent to Yangon. His result will be known this evening. At present, as a preventive measure, we opened the office as less people as we can and by doing video conferencing and from online. As it is nearer to Thingyan holiday period, we ordered most of the staff at homes. We will carry on after the National Health Laboratory has issued his result,” wrote Zaw Htay, spokesman from the Presidential Office via online.
