Nine Myanmar cities rank among world’s 15 hottest, Minbu tops the list

Nine cities from Myanmar have been ranked among the world’s 15 hottest locations, with Minbu in Magway Region taking the top spot, according to data released by Eldorado Weather.

Based on figures published on the afternoon of April 1, Minbu recorded a temperature of 43°C, placing it first on the global list. Magway followed at third place with 41.8°C, while Chauk ranked fourth at 41.4°C. Taungoo secured fifth place with a temperature of 41°C.

Other Myanmar cities also featured prominently. Pyay in Bago Region ranked seventh with 40.6°C, while Hinthada in Ayeyarwady Region, Hpa-An in Kayin State, and Meiktila recorded temperatures of 40°C, placing them 13th, 14th, and 15th respectively.

Since late March, Myanmar cities have increasingly appeared among the world’s hottest locations, surpassing cities in Africa and India that traditionally dominate such rankings.

The April 1 afternoon data also included cities from other countries, with one city from South Africa, four from Thailand, and four from India making the list alongside Myanmar’s entries.
