A private edible oil factory capable of refining up to 20 tons of oil per day has officially opened in Yangon under Global Good Pure Group Company Limited.
The factory, hailed as a significant development in the edible oil industry, began operations on November 24.
"We can process up to 50 tons of raw materials daily and produce 20 tons of finished edible oil. Our products will be distributed and sold across Myanmar," said U Maung Maung Zaw, Managing Director of San Gein Hse Edible Oil Factory.
The opening ceremony was attended by Union Minister of Agriculture, Livestock, and Irrigation U Min Naung; Union Minister of Industry Dr. Charlie Than; Union Minister of Commerce U Tun Ohn; Yangon Region Chief Minister U Soe Thein; and Chairman of the Myanmar Oil Industry Association U Hsan Lin. Other officials, industrial leaders, and representatives from various industrial zones also participated.
Union Ministers and officials inaugurated the factory by unveiling the inscription stone and operating machinery to showcase the factory's production processes.
A detailed demonstration was provided, highlighting the oil refining stages and the treatment of raw materials.
The factory will produce two types of oil—peanut oil and sunflower oil—and distribute them nationwide, contributing to Myanmar's edible oil supply chain.
