NDSC accepts Vice Governor Dr. Lin Aung’s retirement for health reasons, appoints Dr. Sandar Oo as new Vice Governor

The Office of the National Defence and Security Council (NDSC) announced on March 10 that Dr. Lin Aung, Vice Governor of the Central Bank of Myanmar, has been granted retirement due to health reasons, and Dr. Sandar Oo has been appointed as his replacement.

According to the announcement, the NDSC approved the retirement of Dr. Lin Aung under Order No. 8/2026 in accordance with Article 427 (b) of the Constitution of the Republic of the Union of Myanmar.

In a separate order, No. 9/2026, the NDSC appointed Dr. Sandar Oo as Vice Governor of the Central Bank of Myanmar under the same constitutional provision, Article 427 (b).
