The 2025 Myanmar Film Academy Awards Ceremony will be held in Nay Pyi Taw on February 7, according to U Maung Maung Ohn, Union Minister for Information and Chairman of the Myanmar Film Academy Awards Ceremony Steering Committee.
He made the announcement at a Steering Committee meeting held at the Ministry of Information Conference Hall in Nay Pyi Taw on January 7, convened to coordinate preparations for the successful staging of the ceremony.
U Maung Maung Ohn said the Awards Selection Sub-Committee is currently reviewing nominated films chosen from those released in 2025. He added that the ceremony will be jointly organized with Forever Group Company Limited and aims to surpass previous editions. He called on all relevant sectors to work together to ensure the event is held in a grand and successful manner.
Vice Chairman of the Steering Committee and Chairman of the Nay Pyi Taw Council, U Than Htun Oo, said the Nay Pyi Taw Council and Nay Pyi Taw Development Committee will coordinate necessary arrangements in a timely manner to support the event.
The Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Information, who serves as Secretary of the Steering Committee, explained the planned arrangements for the ceremony. Members of the Steering Committee, the Chairman of the Working Committee, and sub-committee chairs then discussed sector-wise issues.
The meeting was attended by Union Minister U Maung Maung Ohn, Deputy Minister U Ye Tint, members of the Steering Committee and sub-committees, officials, Chairman of the Myanmar Film Association U Kyi Soe Htun, Chairman of the Myanmar Music Association (Central) U Lwin Myint, and Chair of the Academy Best Dressed Award Sub-Committee Daw Swe Zin Htike.
