Authorities have seized 1,500 kilos of ice (crystal methamphetamine) and 1 kilo of ketamine worth over 30 billion kyats from a six-wheeled truck carrying bags of cement in PyinOoLwin Township, Mandalay Region, according to a statement released by the Central Committee for Drug Abuse Control (CCDAC-Myanmar). 

Acting on a tip-off, a combined team of the local anti-drug squad and police stopped searched the DONGFENG six-wheeled truck driven by Ngwe Aung along with his assistant Min Min en route from Mogok to PyinOoLwin near Hsinsagon village in PyinOoLwin at 9am on October 8. 

The search led to the seizure of over 30 billion kyats’ worth of 1,500 kilos of ice (crystal methamphetamine) and 1 kilo of ketamine covered in cement bags. According to the investigation, the drugs were to be transported from Shan State (North) to Rakhine State.

The suspects have been filed for legal action and investigation is going on  to expose and arrest further accomplices, CCDAC Myanmar announced.
