According to information released by the Drug Eradication Police Squad, narcotic drugs valued at approximately K16 million were seized in Meiktila Township.
At around 6:20 p.m. on June 1, acting on a tip-off, a combined team consisting of members of the Mandalay Region Police Force and local witnesses conducted a search at the residence of Kyaw Zeya in Magyichauk Village, Meiktila Township.
During the search, Aung Zaw Win (a.k.a. Kalama) was found at the house along with Kyaw Zeya. The authorities seized 7,600 stimulant tablets worth about K15.2 million, 300 grams of cannabis valued at approximately K1.5 million, and K1 million in cash.
The suspects—Aung Zaw Win (39) and Kyaw Zeya (38)—have been charged under the Drugs and Psychotropic Substances Act at No. 2 Regional Police Station. Investigations are ongoing to uncover any additional connections to the case.
