Mytel Telecom Tower in Sakhan Gyi village, Thanphyu Zayat Township, Mon State was set on fire on October 1st, at 6:00 pm according to locals.
The Telecom Tower is on Thanphyu Zayat-Yay highway and after torched at the lower area, explosion was heard according to a resident in the area.
“We heard that a telecom mast in Sakhan Gyi village was torched and after 15 minutes, we heard explosions. Later, security forces came and investigation were made,” said a local living in the area.
Then, security forces interrogated passers-by. It is the first time Mytel tower in Thanphyu Zayat was destroyed.
Mytel telecom tower in Ingabo village, Kyaik Hto Township was set on fire on September 11, Mytel telecom tower in south Kyauk Mi Chaung, Yay Township and Mytel telecom tower in Kawkadut village, Bilin Township on September 17, Mytel telecom towers in Khawzar to Kabyar Wa village road, and another tower in Aung Thabyay village Yay Township on September 18, Mytel telecom tower in Kanin Kamawt village, Yay Township on September 22 and Mytel Telecom Tower in Sakhan Gyi village, Thanphyu Zayat Township was the latest attack. In Mon State, 7 Mytel telecom towers were destroyed till October 1.
