Health staffers across Myanmar have started receiving Covid-19 vaccinations at hospitals and treatment centers under the ministry of health and sports.

The ministry will be vaccinating priority groups against Covid-19 with the first priority to start inoculating over 110,000 health workers across the country on January 27.

The first priority group also includes volunteers working for Covid-19 prevention and treatment, members of union and regional governments and parliamentary representatives.

The vaccine being administered to the health staff is Covidshield produced by Serum Institute of India. It is kind of ChAdOx 1 nCoV-19 Corona Virus Vaccine (Recombinant) that can be stored under the temperature of 2'C to 8'C. So it is most suitable for Myanmar’s cold storage system. But, only those aged above 18 can be vaccinated.
