Myanmar sees 1,466 new cases, 25 more deaths

Myanmar now has 1,466 new cases of COVID-19 and 26 more deaths, according to the statement made by the Ministry of Health and Sports (MOHS) on October 27 at 8:00 pm. 

 

From October 26 at 8:00 pm to October 27 at 8:00pm, a total of 15,798 samples were tested and found 1,466 new cases.  Among the positive patients, 1366 were discharged from the hospital bringing the total number of people recovered from the virus now reached 27,373.

 

Among the 25deaths, 23 had underlying chronic medical conditions. The total number of deaths is now 1095. 

 

Myanmar has so far conducted 634,041 samples and found 47,666 positive patients while 27,373 people were recovered from the virus and discharged from the hospital with 1,147.

In Yangon Region, there are 1746 close contact person and they are placed under home quarantine.

Hospitals in Yangon Region are testing COVID-19 suspects using rapid antigen diagnostic test kits and people who lost their sense of smell and taste included, announced the MOHS.
