Myanmar sees 1,321 new cases with 27 deaths

Myanmar found 1,321 new COVID-19 confirmed patients and 27 more have died, announced the Ministry of Health and Sports (MOHS) on the night of December 10.

 

A total of 22,241 samples were tested from December 9 at 8:00 pm to December 10 at 8:00 pm, and found new 1,321 new COVID-19 patients.

 

A total of 1,098 people were allowed to be discharged from the hospitals, bringing the total number of people free from the virus to 82,813.

 

Among the 27 deaths, 21 had underlying chronic medical conditions. Up to 2,201 patients have died from the virus, it said.

 

It said a total of 1,374,159 samples were tested till December 10 and found 104,487 patients so far and 82,813 people were recovered from the virus with 2,201 deaths.

 

A total of 963 people, who had close contact with positive patients in Yangon Region and tested negative, are put in home quarantine, it said.

 

Hospitals in Yangon Region are testing COVID-19 suspects using rapid antigen diagnostic test kits and there are people who lost their sense of smell and taste included, announced the MOHS.
