Myanmar sees 1,308 new cases with 19 deaths

Myanmar found 1,308 new COVID-19 confirmed patients and 19 more have died, announced the Ministry of Health and Sports (MOHS) on the night of December 8.

 

A total of 23,348 samples were tested from December 7 at 8:00 pm to December 8 at 8:00 pm, and found new 1,308 new COVID-19 patients.

 

A total of 1,486 people were allowed to be discharged from the hospitals, bringing the total number of people free from the virus to 80,726.

 

Among the 19 deaths, 17 had underlying chronic medical conditions. Up to 2,151 patients have died from the virus, it said.

 

It said 1,331,092 samples were tested till December 8 and found 101,739 patients so far and 80,726 people were recovered from the virus with 2,151 deaths.

 

A total of 1,069 people, who had close contact with positive patients in Yangon Region and tested negative, are put in home quarantine, it said.

 

Hospitals in Yangon Region are testing COVID-19 suspects using rapid antigen diagnostic test kits and there are people who lost their sense of smell and taste included, announced the MOHS.
