Myanmar sees 1,150 more COVID cases and 42 deaths

Myanmar found 1,150 new confirmed COVID-19 cases and 42 more people have died, according to the Ministry of Health and Sports (MOHS) statement on October 18.

 

A total of 12,307 samples were tested on October 17 and 18, and found 1,150 new cases.

 

A total of 706 people were allowed to be discharged from the hospitals, bringing the total number of people free from COVID-19 to 17,076. Among the 42 deaths, 27 had previous diseses prior to COVID-19.

 

Till now, Myanmar has 36,025 confirmed cases. Up to 880 patients have died from the virus, it said.

 

Moreover, a total of 2,305 people who had close contact with the positive cases in Yangon Region will be placed under home quarantine.
