Myanmar receives foreign investment worth over US$484 m till Aug in 2023-2024 FY

More than US$484 million of foreign investment entered from April to the end of August of the 2023-2024 FY, achieving more than US$16 million of foreign investment in one month, according to the Directorate of Investment and Company Administration (DICA).

According to the foreign investment inflow by sector from April to the end of August in 2023-2024 FY, Myanmar received US$2.578 million including increasing investment in the agricultural sector, US$23.050 million including increased investment in the livestock and fisheries sector, US$63.529 million, including increased investment in the manufacturing sector, US$317.178 million in the energy sector, and US$77.820 million, including increased investment in the transportation and communication sector, totaling US$484.155 million.

In the 2023-2024 FY, from April to the end of July, US467.793 million of foreign investment came in, and up to the end of August, US$484.155 million of foreign investment entered.

According to foreign investment entered by countries into Myanmar from April to the end of March 2022-2023 FY, Myanmar received US$1,158.744 million including increased investment from Singapore, US$1.5 million from Belize, US$1 million, including increased investment from Bangladesh, US$161 million investment from China, US$4.414 million, including increased investment by Taipei, US$169.568 million, including increased investment from Hong Kong, US$1.545 million, including increased investment from India, US$21.476 million, including increased investment from Japan, US$53.149 million dollars, including increased investment from South Korea, US$2.389 million, including increased investment from Samoa, US$0.338 million, including increased investment from Seychelles, US$4.677 million, including increasing investment from Switzerland, US$98.350 million, including increased investment from Thailand, US2.056 million investment from U.K. and US$0.300 million investment from Vietnam, totaling US$1,640.667 million foreign investment.

According to foreign investment entered by countries into Myanmar in six months of 2021-2022 FY (Mini Budget), Myanmar received US$297.349 million, including increased investment from Singapore, US$142.137 million including increased investment from China, US$8.641 million, including increased investment from Taipei, US$0.497 million investment from France, US$109.140 million, including increased investment from Hong Kong, US$0.550 million investment from India, US$5.1 million investment from Indonesia, US$4.530 million, including increased investment from Japan, US$0.312 million, including increased investment from Malaysia, US$62.693 million, including increased investment from South Korea, US$2 million, including increased investment from Samoa, US$1.343 million investment from Seychelles, US$7 million, including increased investment from Thailand and US$4 million, including increased investment from the Netherlands.
