Myanmar evacuates its citizens from four countries

Myanmar evacuated its citizens stranded in Australia, New Zealand, Indonesia and Singapore using relief flights, announced the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

The ministry is cooperating with respective ministries and embassies to evacuate Myanmar citizens stranded in foreign countries under the guidance of National-level central committee to prevention, control and treatment of COVID-19.

A total of 121 Myanmar nationals from Australia and New Zealand and 13 Myanmar nationals from Indonesia returned to Myanmar on July 20 via a relief flight from Myanmar Airways International (MAI).

Moreover 51 Myanmar seafarers, that were stranded due to crew changes, were evacuated on July 20 from Singapore by the cooperation of Myanmar Seafarer Employment Services Federation, Myanmar embassy in Singapore and ship management companies.
