YANGON-Myanmar Designer Ma Pont and her designs were featured in ASEAN Week-2019 held in Seoul Plaza, South Korea, from June 14th to 16th.

The event commemorates the 30th anniversary of the ASEAN-Republic of Korea (ROK) Dialogue Relations and the 10th anniversary of the ASEAN-Korea Centre. The event also aims to enhance the awareness of ASEAN, especially leading up to the ASEAN-ROK Commemorative Summit in November.

The programs for cultural exchange with Korea and ASEAN countries and sharing food were shown at the festival.

“I was invited to attend ASEAN Week 2019 that marks the 30th anniversary of ASEAN-ROK dialogue relations. I had a chance to show my creations at the ASEAN Fashion Festival. My pupil designer Su Hnin Htet and model Angel La Mon accompanied me. Korean models wore my designed costumes. The Fashion Festival was held by highlighting ASEAN designers including Korean designers. I felt very proud for showing of my creations on behalf of Myanmar designers,” said Designer Ma Pont (My Favourite).

Secretary General of the ASEAN-Korea Centre Lee Hyuk said in a statement that ASEAN Week 2019 would be the first official event conducted to celebrate the 30th anniversary of the ASEAN-ROK Dialogue Relations. He encouraged people to participate in the event as they will be able to experience different aspects of ASEAN, from fashion and lifestyle to art, tourism and food.

ASEAN Week 2019 featured various events, namely the ASEAN-Korea Music Festival on June 14, ASEAN Fashion Festival on June 15 and ASEAN Travel Talk on June 16.
