Muse trade camp accounts for over 54 pc of total border trade

Till 10 January of this fiscal year, the trade value at Muse border trade camp reached 1.602 billion US dollars, accounting for over 54 per cent of the total border trade value, according to the Commerce Ministry. 

During this period, the total border trade value at 18 border trade camps exceeded 2.9 billion US dollars, up 625.550 million US dollars compared with the same period last year. 

The trade value at Muse border trade camp increased by over 520 million US dollars compared with last year. 

In 2019-2020 FY, the total trade value is projected to hit 34 billion US dollars and the export sector, 18 billion US dollars, said Union Minister for Commerce Dr. Than Myint. 

Myanmar needs to increase the quality and quantity of export products and to import more capital goods which will contribute to the long-term economic development, Dr. Than Myint said.
