More visitors came to Rih Lake in Chin State in Thadingyut holiday period, sources said.

“Visitors are still here as there are Thadingyut and Khuado festivals. Some had made their bookings two or three months in advance. If bookings were not made, it will be difficult to get a room by walking in during Thadingyut, Christmas, New Year and Thingyan holidays. Some came to visit the lake from India. More guests will be here in the end of this month,” said Dein Nga.

Rih Lake is located in Reedkhawda, border of Myanmar and India. It is about 90 miles away from Kalay, Sagaing region.

“Road between Tiddim and Reedkhawda is a little bad. The road between Kalay and Tiddim is not bad. If you start from 7 am and you will arrive at the lake around 4 pm. Guests can stay at guest houses located near the lake. It will be convenient for the visitors if the government repairs the road and locals prepared more guesthouses and food for them,” said a traveller.

Travellers that want to visit the Chin Mountain, come to Kalay using buses and planes. They can travel to Rih Lake, Kennedy Peak, Hakha, Falam, Htantlan, Tiddim and Tonzan from Kalay with buses.

“Many sightseers came to Layhtankone near Thaingin Village, Tiddim Township in this holiday period. Most of them want enjoy it scenic beauty and take photographs. The road leading to Layhtankone is good. It will be good for people who want to visit the Chin Mountain but have no time to go there. It will take a half-day to visit Layhtankone. They can go up to Kennedy Peak if they have a little more time. People don’t want to go there as the road going up the mountain is bad,” said a local.
