More rain expects in Bago, Yangon, Ayeyawady, Shan, Chin, Kayin, upper Sagaing and Kachin: DMH

Rain and thundershowers will be fairly widespread in Bago, Yangon, Ayeyawady regions, Shan, Chin and Kayin states, with likelihood of isolated heavy falls in upper Sagaing Region and Kachin State, according to a forecast made by the Department of Meteorology and Hydrology (DMH) on July 7.

Monsoon is weak to moderate over the Andaman Sea and South Bay and moderate elsewhere over the Bay of Bengal. Rain or thundershowers will be isolated in Mandalay, Magway regions and Kayah State, scattered in Nay Pyi Taw, lower Sagaing, Taninthayi regions and northern Shan, Mon states, fairly widespread in Bago, Yangon, Ayeyawady regions and Southern and Eastern Shan, Chin, Kayin states and widespread in the remaining regions and states with likelihood of isolated heavy falls in upper Sagaing Region and Kachin State. Degree of certainty is 100%.

According to the weather forecast for the next two days, there may be weak to moderate monsoon winds.

During the past 24 hours, rain or thundershowers have been isolated in Taninthayi Region, scattered in Sagaing, Mandalay, Magway regions and northern Shan, Kayah, Mon states, fairly widespread in Kachin, eastern Shan, Kayin states and widespread in the remaining regions and states with isolated heavy falls in upper Sagaing Region.

The noteworthy amounts of rainfall recorded were 5.12 inches in Hkamti, 2.68 inches in Ponnagyun, 2.60 inches in Kyaukpyu, 2.32 inches in Kya-In-Seikkyi, 2.30 inches in Ngapudaw, 1.97 inches in Homalin (Htamanthi), 1.90 inches in Yanbye, 1.89 inches in Manaung and 1.81 inches in Pauktaw.
