A police officer from Yangon Region Police Force, said on 5th October that a police sergeant and his wife from Htantabin township police force were infected with COVID-19 virus and that they are being treated.
The 36 year old police sergeant lost his sense of smell on 26 Sept and his wife lost the sense of smell on 27 Sept. Both were taken to Htantabin township hospital and kept under observation. While under observation their swabs were tested.
After their swabs were tested they were in the list of CIVID-19 confirmed patients given by the ministry of health and sports on 3rd Oct evening.
A police officer from Yangon Region police force said that the police sergeant, 36 yrs. from Htantabin township has been infected with a virus, and his wife too has been infected. His child has not been infected. At present they are being treated at Phaunggyi hospital.
Apart from the police sergeant from Htantabin township being infected with COVID-19 disease, there was the Hmawbi township police chief with a record of previously suffering from TB, and died of COVID-19 infection. At the moment it is learnt that three members of the police force from Hlaingthayar township, and 13 from Insein township have been infected with COVID-19 disease and they are taking treatment and designated treatment centres.
