Monywa shooting kills two, wounds two including a monk

A shooting incident has killed two people and injured two others including a monk in Sagaing Region’s town of Monywa, according to a statement released by the information team of the State Administration Council on October 4. 

As security forces patrolled the town on the evening of October 3 for community peace and security and arrived in Nandawin Ward at about 4.20 pm, small weapons were suddenly fired from an AD van and the car ran away. 

The shooting killed two men and wounded two others including a monk in the ward. The injured were sent to Monywa People’s Hospital for treatment. A murder case has been opened at Monywa Police State, the statement said.

The security forces have launched a manhunt to expose and arrest the shooters, the statement added.
