Ministry of Health and Sports (MoHS) is built 1,373 new buildings for its service personnel in this year, according to the ministry.

There are 1,144 staff housings for Department of Medical Services, 112 staff housings for Department of Public Health, 9 staff housings for Department of Human Resources for Health, 4 staff housings for Department of Medical Research, 28 staff housings for Department of Traditional Medicine, four staff housings for Department of Food and Drug Administration and 71 staff housings for Department of Sports and Physical Education.

The ministry built 6,736 units in 2016-17 FY and 10,377 units in 2018-19 FY and most of them are finish built in this fiscal year.

The ministry has set the year of 2019 as the year of staff housing and is continued to build more staff housings. Over 830 apartments will be built in the current 2018-2019 fiscal year. They are 195 apartments with 2,254 units for the staff of the Department of Public Health and Medical Services, 460 apartments with 2,428 units for the public health staff, 9 apartments with 212 units for the staff of the Department of Human Resource for Health, 3 apartments with 32 units for the staff of the Department of Medical Research, 44 apartments with 528 units for the staff of the Department of Food and Drug Administration and 123 apartments with 523 units for the staff of the Department of Sport and Physical Education.

“This financial year, we are planning to build 834 apartments with nearly 6,000 units for various departments under our ministry. In the mini budget period, staff housing projects were not for the staff of the Department of Medical Research. So we included them among those who will receive staff housings this year,” said an official from the ministry.

The ministry is carrying out tasks to give education for health in schools, to update rules and regulations and directions, to abolish unnecessary rules and regulations and directions, to establish a good relation between health staffs, patients and their family members, to open public based healthcare clinics to stop uninfected diseases, to open mobile clinics with basic health staffs and to appoint supervisors to organize training teams in states and regions.
