Nandaw Oo mobile & electrical appliance shop which also provides money transfer services was robbed by a man who pretended to be transferring money in the town of Bhamo, Kachin State, at about 4.30 pm on September 25, according to local sources.
In connection with the case, the man, aged about 30, wearing a mask and black hat arrived at the shop located in Bala Minhtin Street, Thazi Ward, Bhamo, and said he wanted to exchange 7,000 Chinese yuan for Myanmar kyats. After 3,030,300 kyats equivalent to the amount of the yuan was put on the table, the man took out of a pistol and asked for the money to be put into his backpack. He also took 4 million kyats and 7,000 yuan from the counter and ran away by motorbike.
A robbery case was filed under Section 392 of the Penal Code at Bhamo Township Police Station.
