Member of State Administration Council and Minister for Home Affairs Lt-Gen Soe Htut inspected Insein Prison where explosion occurred on the morning of October 19.

Due to the explosion occurred at the place where parcel reception office near the prison gate, three prison staff and 5 people who came there to deliver parcel to their relatives in the prison, totaling 8 were killed. 18 people including 5 prison staff and 13 civilians were wounded.

He then met with prison staff, injured by the explosion and families of the deceased and later provided cash assistance to them. Afterwards, a meeting on security was held with prison officials.  Later, he fulfilled the requirements.

In the evening, he visited Insein prison and met prison staff and people injured by the explosion and gave words of encouragement.
