Military arrests Rakhine CM and Township UEC members again

The military, together with the police, arrested Rakhine State Chief Minister Nyi Pu again, the chairmen of Township Union Election sub-commissions from Ann, Mannaung, Taunggup, Yenbye Townships and a parliament representative on February 10th.

“The Rakhine State Chief Minister was arrested on February 10th. We don’t know where they took him. Parliament representative Ye Khaung Nyut was arrested by the police. The family members of detainees are now worried. U Nyi Pu isn’t in good health,” said Kyaw Myint Maung from Gwa Township.

The military also arrested the township Union Election Sub-commission's chairman two days ago.
