A total of 404 people, including 217 men and 187 women, were rescued alive in Mandalay Region, and the bodies of 203 men and 155 women, a total of 358, were recovered, from March 28 to April 4, according to the Myanmar Fire Services Department (MFSD).
The search and rescue team led by Deputy Director General U Ye Min Thu of the MFSD, in collaboration with departments, charities, social welfare organizations, the public, and international search and rescue teams, carried out search and rescue operations for those trapped in collapsed buildings in Mandalay Region due to the powerful earthquake. From the time of the earthquake until April 4, a total of 404 people, including 217 men and 187 women, were rescued alive in Mandalay Region, and the bodies of 203 men and 155 women, a total of 358, were recovered, according to the MFSD.
In addition, on April 4, the search and rescue team led by Deputy Director General U Ye Min Thu of the MFSD, charitable groups, social welfare organizations, people, search and rescue teams from Russia, China, India, and Belarus are continuing their search and rescue operations at a total of 11 locations: U Hla Thein Sasana Veikmen, a building on (31x85A) Street, Golden Country Hotel, White Cloud Hotel, Mauk Mae Win Tak Street Medical Student Dormitory, Sky Villa condo, a 7th floor RC building on 15x16 Street and 86x87 Street, Great Wall Hotel, Tulip Guest House, Win Star Hotel, and Paragon Hotel.
