Thousands of people held in Yangon a rally to denounce grave threat to the race, religion and sovereignty of Myanmar on February 9.

In the rally organized by Myanmar National Organization, protestors marched Yaygesaing Bus Stop in Bahan Township to Maha Bandoola Park in the city center.

It was also joined by members of organizations for safeguarding race and religion and war veteran organizations from various townships in Yangon Region.

Protestors chanted slogans such as protection of race, religion and sovereignty, protection of Section 59 (f) of the constitution, non-emergence of false race Rohingya and non-acceptance of charter amendment and down with the organizations trying to harm national sovereignty.

“I join the rally as a gesture of protecting our race and religion. We denounce any internal or international organizations encroaching upon our sovereignty. I urge every citizen to safeguard our race and religion. We also call for any oppression of national activists,” said a participant.
