Many Myanmar citizens returned to Myawady from China via Nandaw and Mant Wane gates starting from April 3.

They went to Ruili and Kyegaung in Yunnan Province to work. Some of them had returned to Myanmar as they are afraid of being arrested by Chinese authorities.

Locals are cooperating to stay in hotels and home quarantines in Muse.

“I like being quarantined for 14 days. I have decided to stay 14-day quarantine without entering my home to protect my family, neighbourhood and people. I thank the government and authorities for the arrangements,” said Zaw Naing from Mandalay.

Although China announced they will not arrest people who are overstayed, many Myanmar citizens returned to Myanmar as rumours came out that Chinese authorities detained ten people, who are overstayed, in Ruili on April 1.

About 150 Myanmar citizens returned from China are kept in quarantine at No.3 B.E.H.S in Muse and they are supervised by Thurein, Administrator of Muse Township, and officials, Dr Hein Naing Soe, Medical Superintendent of Muse hospital, and healthcare staffs, Red Cross members of Muse Township and social welfare associations.
