China Eastern Airlines has cancelled Mandalay-Wuhan flight schedule due to the spreads of 2019 Novel Coronavirus (2019-nCov) in Wuhan of China, according to Mandalay Region Public Health Department.

Since December last year, the department has being carrying out thermal screening for tourists arrivals at Mandalay Tada-U International Airport. The airlines cancelled Wuhan-Mandalay flight schedule of China Eastern Airlines, which will arrive on the evening of January 24.

Dr. Than Than Myint, head of Mandalay Region Public Health Department said: “The department received an official letter for the cancellation of Wuhan-Mandalay-Wuhan flight schedule. But there are many flight schedules from China. The department continues taking preventive measures.”

There are more than 10 direct flight schedules between Mandalay and China. China Eastern Airlines operates Wuhan-Mandalay-Wuhan flight schedule every Monday and Friday.

According to the statement, China Eastern Airlines will suspend flights schedules from Wuhan to Yangon and Mandalay, from January 24 to February 29.

No coronavirus infection is detected in Myanmar so far.
