A low pressure area occurred in Bay of Bengal may intensify into a depression on October 11 and head to Odisha coast in India, announced Department of Meteorology and Hydrology (DMH) on October 10.

Middle areas of Myanmar will have more rain due to the low pressure area, said Director General Dr Kyaw Moe Oo of the DMH.

“The low pressure area is still persisting and it may intensify into a depression within 24 hours. It will be moving to the west from the north. The India Meteorological Department forecasted that it will enter the Odisha coast on October 11. Initial forecasts said the depression may enter northern Rakhine State and Bangladesh. Now its direction has changed and heading to India,” said Dr Kyaw Moe Oo.

Middle and delta areas of Myanmar will have heavy rainfalls due to the effect of the depression and temperatures will be lowered.

“Rakhine and middle areas of Myanmar will have more rainfalls. It is the same with delta areas,” said the director general.
