Local fuel prices increase by around Ks220 per liter in 27 days as global oil price (WTI) reaches $96 per barrel

The world oil price (WTI) was around US$96 per barrel on September 16, 2023, and fuel prices in the domestic market continued to rise by around 220 kyats per liter in 27 days, according to local fuel stations.

In comparison with the fuel prices on August 19 and December 16 this year, the prices have continuously increased by around Ks220 per liter.

On September 16, the fuel prices at some filling stations in Yangon was Ks2,650 per liter of diesel; Ks2,725 per liter of premium diesel; Ks2440 per liter of octane 92 Ron; and Ks2,565 per liter of liter of octane 95 Ron.

The WTI oil price was around $96 on September 16, around $96 on September 14, and around $94 dollars on September 13. On September 11, it was around $92; On September 5, around $92; around $90 on September 1; on August 31, around $88; on August 30, around $87 dollars; on August 29, around $86; on August 28, around $85; on August 25, around $86; on August 24, around $85; on August 23, around $84; on August 22, around $85; on August 21, around $85; and on August 18, around $86.

The world oil price rose from around $86 per barrel on August 18 to around $96 per barrel on September 16.

According to the fuel prices the filling stations in Yangon city, on August 4, diesel was sold at Ks2,400 per liter, octane 92 Ron at Ks2,125 per liter, and octane 95 Ron at Ks2240 per liter. On August 9, the price was Ks2,360 per liter of diesel, Ks2195 per liter of octane 95 Ron, and Ks2310 per liter of octane 95 Ron. On August 19, the price was Ks2,425 per liter of diesel, and Ks2,235 per liter of Octane 92 Ron. On September 16, a liter of diesel was Ks2,650, a liter of premium diesel Ks2,725,  a liter of octane 95 Ron Ks2,440, a liter of octane 95 Ron Ks2,565 and a liter of premium diesel Ks2,725.

On September 18, 2021, the world oil price (WTI) was around $75 per barrel, and the prices sold at the fuel stations in Yangon on September 18, 2021 were Ks1,190 per liter of diesel, Ks1195 per liter of octane 92 Ron and Ks1215 per liter of octane 95 Ron.
