According to information released by the State Administration Council on April 24, persons for explosives offences within Hlaingthayar Township were given life sentences, while 20 years of imprisonment with hard labor was meted out to another person for killing two males by burning them on the pretext of being informers.
Kyaw Soe Htet (a) Kyaw Soe (a) Kyaungsaya and Ye Yint Htoo (a) Yegyi, from Hlaingthayar (west) township took part in protests in February 2021, took training courses conducted by armed insurgents, and committed explosives offences by the use of handmade mines at the police station near ward 9 of Hlaingthayar township and in public places.
In addition Htay Thandar (a) Htay Sandar, a resident of that ward, took part in protests in February 2021, took possession of handmade mines given her by Kyaw Soe Htet (a) Kyaungsaya for the purpose of exploding them, and contributed money for insurgency courses.
For the above offences the military tribunal sentenced each of them to life imprisonment on April 22.
Likewise in the information released, Kyaw Thiha Htun (a) Thiha, residing in Hlaingthayar (east), on March 14 and 15, along with Ahyoe, Han Oo, Phoethagyan, Nwe Htun (a) Lwehtun, Kyantgyi (a) Kyaw Moe Htet, Zaw Myo Htet, Ko Min, Ahshaygyi (a) Wahtoke, and Htun Htun Aung (a) Bo Htun (a) Japan (a) Win Naing, accused U Thein Oo (a) U Myint Htay and U Mya Than (a) Sunye of ward 8 of being informers, placed them on tyres, poured gasoline on them and set them on fire.
Consequently, Kyaw Thiha Htun (a) Thiha was sentenced to 20 years in prison with hard labor by the military tribunal on April 22.
