A fire broke out at Ahlon power sub-station on Strand Road in Ahlon Township, Yangon Region, at about 6pm on April 8, Myanmar Fire Services Department reported.

A fleet of level-1 fire trucks from the Fire Services Department rushed to the scene at about 6.35pm. Then, a fleet of level-2 fire engines and another fleet of level-3 fire engines went to the site to put out the fire at about 6.40pm and 7pm respectively.  

The fire was under control at about 7.15pm and totally extinguished at about 7.18pm, the department said.

Local aid organizations also went to the scene and helped the firefighters.

“The fire broke out at Ahlon power sub-station. No one is hurt,” said an official from Karuna Kanlat aid organization.
