Japanese ambassador vows effort for international relations

Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Japan to the Republic of the Union of Myanmar Mr. Ichiro Maruyama said that he will work hard for the development of international relations of Myanmar, at the new year greetings statement of the  Japanese embassy in Myanmar.

He vowed for the improvement of bilateral relations of two countries and for the development of international relations in Myanmar.

He added that State Counselor Aung San Suu Kyi attended the enthronement ceremony of Japanese Emperor Naruhito in 2019.  On the trip, she met with Japanese Prime Minister Shinzō Abe. Japanese Prime Minister pledged again to work for the development of Myanmar, to have political stability in Myanmar, and to flourish democracy in Myanmar.

A member of the Japanese royal family, Royal Princess Yoko of Mikasa visited Myanmar in December 2019. She met the State Counselor Aung San Suu Kyi during her trip to Myanmar.

In late December, chairman of one of the Japanese political parties also visited Myanmar and met State Counselor and Commander in Chief of Defense Services. He said the Japanese Government will strive hard for solving the challenges of Myanmar according to the statement.
