Interim President Myint Swe transfers power to Senio General Min Aung Hlaing

According to military owned media Myawady, the interim President Myint Swe, elevated from his position of vice-president, had transferred all authority to the military chief Senior General Min Aung Hlaing.

The interim president acted upon the constitutional law section 417, declaring a state of emergency and transfering power of law making, governance and judicial rights  to the military as per by-laws of section 418 of the constitution.

The news that the military had seized power broke early morning of 1st February, followed by widespread cut out of telecommunication lines as well as internet services.

Other sectors such as banking also saw massive throngs of people withdrawing from their accounts in a panic amidst unavailability of online services.

There were also massive queues of panic buyers outside of supermarket and vendors that sell essential foodstuff such as rice, oil and more.
