Infrastructures concerning electricity have been attacked for 210 times

State Administration Council (SAC) has issued a statement that infrastructures concerning electricity such as power stations, sub-power stations, offices and staff housing were attacked and destroyed for 210 times.

Myawaddy main power station distributing electricity to Myawaddy, Kawkareik and Kyarinseik Gyi and Kyondoe townships in Kayin State were attacked with weapons on December 16 and as a result two 50 MVA transformers, a 20 MVA shut reactor, 2 gas circuit, 2 lightning arrester, 2 potential transformers, power lines, power control building were destroyed and power outage occurred.

About 56363 people using electricity suffered power outage and Myanmar-Thai border trade gate and trade zone also experienced power shortages.

Ministry of Electricity is doing its best to get electricity as quickly as possible in cooperation with respective security personnel and doing maintenance works, it said. PDF has been attacking infrastructures concerning electricity such as power stations, sub-power stations, offices and staff housing were attacked and destroyed for 210 times, it stated.

Up to December 14, towers connecting power lines were destroyed for 44 times, according to the Ministry.

It is estimated that 66 KV power lines worth Ks.25.9 million, and 230 KV and 132 KV power lines worth Ks.4034.715 million were destroyed up to October 14, 20220.
