The Indian government has delivered 32 tonnes of emergency supplies to assist Myanmar following the devastation caused by a recent typhoon. 

The relief supplies, transported by the Indian Air Force, arrived at Yangon International Airport yesterday. 

They included essential items such as mosquito nets, ready-to-eat meals (MRE), kitchen utensils, solar lanterns, personal hygiene kits, tents, medicines, and bleaching powder.

Indian Ambassador to Myanmar, Mr. Shri Abhay Thakur, officially handed over the relief supplies to the Union Minister from the Ministry of the State Administration Council Chairman’s Office 2, who in return presented a certificate of honor.

In addition, an Indian naval vessel carrying food, clothing, medicines, tarpaulins, and tents also docked at Thilawa Port last night.

Meanwhile, Myanmar National Airlines and Myanmar Airways International transported US$337,148.95 worth of 59,360 kilograms of relief supplies, including household items, tents, tarps, shelter repair kits, water purifiers, and other emergency kits provided by the ASEAN Coordinating Centre for Humanitarian Assistance on Disaster Management (AHA Centre).

These supplies arrived at Yangon and Nay Pyi Taw international airports yesterday.

The Myanmar government continues to conduct emergency response and rehabilitation efforts, ensuring that relief goods are delivered to flood-affected areas as quickly as possible, leaving no one behind.
