According to the information released by the Department of Forestry on May 1, illegal timbers were seized in Sagaing and Bago Regions.

 As per information released under the management of Sagaing Region Suppression of Illegal Trade Special Force, a search team led by the Myanmar Police Force seized 7.4252 tons of illegal teak timber of various sizes worth 7,796,460 kyats at Yadanarbon Bridge Gate on April 30, and action was taken against the perpetrators of the crime.

In like manner under the management of Bago Region Suppression of Illegal Trade Special Force with the leadership of Regional Department of Forestry seized illegal teak, pyingado and other timbers of various sizes worth about 422,464 kyats in Toungoo and Pyay Districts, and action was taken as per prevailing  laws.
