Acting on information, authorities exposed and seized an illegal timber mill, sawn timbers and teak logs in two places of Padaung Township, Pyay District, Bagon Region (West).

At 12.30 March 14, the authorities seized an illegal timber mill (18 HP engine) and eight pieces of related equipment and 11.9686 tons of sawn timbers and timber logs. 

“While serving regional security duties, we seized them. We did not file a lawsuit because the seizures were made ownerless. In February also, we seized two timber mills and sawn teak in a place about one miles from Kyaysi Village,” said Lin Thu Ko, head of Padaung Township Forest Department. 

Similarly, 0.6654 ton of sawn teaks and teak logs were seized near Thukhitayama railroad in Oakshitpin town at 3.30 pm on March 14.
