If the ethnic armed groups that have not signed the Nationwide Ceasefire Agreement (NCA) want peace, they need to pave the way for them to walk on the path of peace by attending the NCA's eighth anniversary ceremony, said Prime Minister Senior General Min Aung Hlaing at the SAC meeting (4/2023) held at the meeting hall of the SAC chairman's office in Nay Pyi Taw on September 28.

The Chairman of SAC said it is the eighth anniversary of the signing of the NCA which signed on October 15. That the ceremony should have a political meaning, Ethnic leaders are also invited as far as possible. Foreign countries are also now invited.

"I wrote personal letters and invited. Some are by telephone. Some have written invitations. It is also said that some may come and some of them could not come. However, they said they will send their representatives. If foreign countries have this attitude, then our ethnic leaders need to be more willing. Especially the signatory groups need to be able to attend. If the non-signatory groups also want peace, they need to pave the way so that they can walk on the path of peace by attending this ceremony. If you continue to act like hatred, it will only harm the country. We are moving forward. It will go forward. I will do as much as possible. I will make it. If we do it without grudges and doubts, we can see that we will reach our desired path in no time. I would like to encourage these to be able to do it all around," said the SAC Chairman.

Furthermore, regarding the implementation of the federal system, the federal system based on the region must be implemented, not the federal system based on the race. Internationally, there are countries that are using the federal system, but there is no uniformity in each country's implementation. In our country, we must apply a federal system that is compatible with the country's situation. Our country gained independence only after paying many lives. All the ethnic people need to know the true situation of the country. He wants to prioritize the interests of the country rather than the interests of each race and region. We need to work towards the construction of a true union, he said.
