Heavy rain in Mogok causes hillside collapse, killing a 14 years old girl

Heavy rain in Mogok on August 13 at 6:30 am caused collapse of hillside on a house in Myoma ward-4 and killed a 14 years girl.

Moreover a house in west of Kyat Pyin, Yan Gyi Aung ward, Mogok was washed away in the mountain torrent according to locals.

Officials from police station, Mogok fire Department and Red Cross members and social organization members carried out rescue operation at the Myoma ward-4 where a hillside was collapsed on a house. They rescued Tin Magung Htwe, Zin Min Tun, Min Thura Ko, Aung Kyaw Thu, Soe Thura Ko, and Yun Pyae Kay Khine. Zin Min Tun, Min Thura Ko, Soe Thura Ko and Yun Pyae Kay Khine ( 4 years old). They  were admitted to Mogok 100 Bed hospital.

Chit Sanoe (14 years old girl) was found dead at the scene and the body was also sent to the hospital according to an official from the Mogok social organization.

“Because of the heavy rain, hillside collapsed on a house where family members of seven lived. Six were found alive and one girl was died,” said  an official from the Mogok social organization.
